Setting up a business account and entering business details

If you use Suchen.Expert in the course of your commercial or independent professional activity, you should operate your account as a business account and enter all business and provider information required for your activity.

The information required by law depends in particular on your legal form, your activity and the type of offers you make.

1. Setting up a business account on Suchen.Expert

If you act as an entrepreneur on Suchen.Expert, use the designated commercial account setting.

The business account allows you to present your business to other users as a commercial provider and to enter the required business and contact information in your profile.

Make sure you state your user status truthfully. What matters is whether your offers are made in the exercise of your commercial or independent professional activity.

2. Entering business details

Your business details are stored in your account and can then be used for your public business profile and associated offers.

Carefully check all information for accuracy and completeness before saving it.

Depending on the business and its activity, the following information may be required in particular:

name or full business name,
legal form,
address of the establishment,
email address and other required contact options,
person authorised to represent a legal person,
register and registration number, if registered,
VAT identification number or business identification number, where such a number exists and must be stated by law,
details of a competent supervisory authority where applicable,
further professional information for certain regulated professions.

For digital services provided on a business basis and generally for remuneration, essential general information obligations follow in particular from § 5 DDG. Under this provision, the required provider information must be easily recognisable, directly accessible and permanently available.

3. Business information in the public profile

The designated business and provider information can be displayed in your public profile so that interested parties can identify the provider they are contacting.

Complete and up-to-date information contributes to a transparent presence on Suchen.Expert.

Please note, however: entering your data on Suchen.Expert does not replace checking your own statutory information obligations.

4. Checking information before publication

Before publishing an offer, check that your business information is still up to date and complete.

This applies in particular after changes to:

business name or legal form,
business address,
authorised representatives,
contact details,
register entries,
tax identification details, or
other legally required business information.

Changes should be updated promptly in your user account.

Suchen.Expert provides the technical facilities for entering and displaying this information. The provider concerned remains responsible for the accuracy, completeness and currency of the business data entered by the user.

5. Why is complete information important?

Correct business information creates transparency and enables interested parties to clearly identify and contact the commercial provider of an offer.

Incomplete or incorrect mandatory information can also have adverse legal consequences.

The specific information obligations depend on the activity concerned. In addition to § 5 DDG, consumer protection, pricing, tax, data protection or product-specific rules may be relevant, for example.

Further information obligations may also apply to entrepreneurs dealing with consumers. For example, under certain conditions § 36 VSBG contains information obligations concerning participation in consumer dispute resolution proceedings. However, a statutory exception to § 36(1) no. 1 VSBG applies to entrepreneurs with no more than ten employees.

6. Updating business details regularly

Review your stored information regularly, particularly when business details have changed.

Also ensure that information in your individual offers does not contradict the information in your business profile.

Find out about the legal requirements applicable to your activity and observe Suchen.Expert's terms of use and policies.

Note

Suchen.Expert provides the platform and the technical input facilities. Using these features does not replace individual legal or tax advice.

If you are unsure which information is required for your business, have your specific situation assessed from a legal or tax perspective where necessary.
