Protection of Children and Young People on Suchen Expert
Protecting children and young people is important to us. These guidelines explain our rules for responsible use of the platform and supplement the General Terms and Conditions and the Usage Guidelines.
1. Principles of youth protection
The applicable legal provisions govern, in particular Germany’s Interstate Treaty on the Protection of Minors in the Media (JMStV), Youth Protection Act (JuSchG), Criminal Code (StGB) and the Digital Services Act (DSA). The protection of minors must also be taken into account for publicly accessible content.
2. Prohibited content and offers
The following are prohibited on Suchen Expert in particular:
- Content and offers that violate statutory youth protection requirements.
- Content that glorifies violence, is pornographic, extremist or otherwise harmful to minors, particularly depictions of sexual abuse or sexual exploitation of children and young people.
- Advertising or offers intended for adults that specifically target minors.
The other prohibitions in the General Terms and Conditions and the Usage Guidelines also apply. An “18+” label does not permit content prohibited under these rules. FSK or USK age ratings alone mean neither a general prohibition nor permission to publish on Suchen Expert. Providers must comply with the age restrictions and protection requirements applicable to their offers.
3. Minimum age for a user account
Under our General Terms and Conditions, only natural persons who are adults and have full legal capacity may open and use a personal user account. Persons under 18 may not register their own account or use features requiring registration, such as posting listings or internal messaging.
Access to publicly available content without registration is unaffected. This distinction does not override statutory youth protection requirements.
4. Safe communication
Harassment, sexual approaches to minors, intimidation and manipulative contact are not tolerated. Suspicious messages or other incidents can be reported through the channels below. Do not publish private information or images of children and young people unless you are entitled to do so.
5. Reporting channels and measures
If you notice a possible violation, please use the reporting feature on the relevant listing, where available, or our contact form. If possible, include a link to the content concerned and a brief explanation.
We review reports in accordance with legal requirements. Depending on the circumstances, measures may include restricting or removing content, warnings or account suspensions under our Terms and Conditions. Where legally required, we inform affected persons of the reasons and available avenues of redress. Information is passed to the competent authorities where legally required or permitted.
6. Prevention and responsibility
Responsible use of digital services helps protect young people. Parents and guardians should support children in using the internet in an age-appropriate way and pay attention to protecting personal data. The platform operator’s statutory obligations remain unaffected.
