Reporting content (“Report a problem”)
Reporting unlawful or abusive content
Users and third parties can report content on suchen.expert that is suspected to be unlawful, misleading or abusive.
For this purpose, a “Report a problem” function is available on every listing and at appropriate locations on the platform.
What can be reported?
In particular, reports may concern:
- unlawful content (e.g. breaches of criminal law, copyright, trademark rights or personality rights),
- fraudulent or misleading listings,
- prohibited goods or services,
- hate speech, discrimination or offensive content,
- spam, duplicate listings or other misuse of the platform.
Reporting procedure
Reports are submitted using an online form and include:
- a clear identification of the affected content (e.g. listing ID or URL),
- a brief description of the issue being reported,
- optionally, the reporting user’s contact details.
Reports may be made anonymously provided no follow-up questions are required.
Review and measures
Suchen Technology Services reviews every incoming report without delay and carefully, in accordance with the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the German Digital Services Act (DDG).
If the review establishes a violation, the following measures may be taken in particular:
- removal or blocking of the affected content,
- temporary restriction of visibility,
- a warning or suspension of the user account.
Information for those involved
Affected users are informed of the measure taken and its main reasons where required by law (“Statement of Reasons” under Article 17 DSA).
Reporting persons receive confirmation that their report has been received and, where possible, information about the outcome of the review.
No general monitoring obligation
Providing the reporting function does not create a general obligation to monitor content in advance. Liability arises only upon knowledge of a specific infringement and failure to respond within the framework prescribed by law (Section 7 DDG).
