Which form of offer suits my plans?
Yes, a combined handover and individual handovers may generally be possible. The essential point is that interested parties must always be able to see clearly which items are actually available and on what terms.
Choose one of the following forms of offer:
- The complete set is offered exclusively as a bundle.
- The individual items are offered exclusively separately.
- The set or individual components may alternatively be purchased or taken free of charge.
The title, description, images and price must match the chosen form of offer. Avoid having several active adverts at the same time whose content overlaps completely or substantially.
Offer the set exclusively as a complete package
If all components are to be handed over only together, create an advert for the complete set. Clearly identify the offer as a set, bundle or collection in the title or at the beginning of the description.
Please specify:
- which items are included in the set,
- how many items are included,
- the condition of each individual item,
- which accessories are included,
- which items shown in the photos are not included,
- whether any parts are missing, damaged or have been replaced,
- whether the stated price applies to the entire set,
- whether the set will be handed over only in full.
Example:
- “Jeans and a belt as a set. The price quoted applies to both items together.”
Do not publish additional individual adverts for the same components while they are offered exclusively as part of the set.
Offering the items exclusively individually
If the items are not to be handed over together as a set, create a separate advert for each independent item.
Ensure the following for each advert:
- The title refers only to the item actually being offered.
- The description relates exclusively to this item.
- The images show the relevant item.
- The price, condition and items included are unambiguous.
- The type, category and location match the respective offer.
- Availability is updated independently of the other items.
- There is no second identical or nearly identical advert for the same item.
An additional general advert for the set is unnecessary if the set is not being offered as such.
If the items are actually identical, they may, where appropriate, be combined into a single advert under the conditions described in the previous FAQ.
Offering a set and individual items in one advert
If you wish to offer both the complete set and individual components, a single advert may be the clearest solution. This is provided that the items are objectively related and can reasonably be classified under the same type and category.
Please describe clearly:
- which items belong to the complete set,
- the price for the entire set,
- which components are also available individually,
- which unit price applies to which component,
- which items are currently available,
- which items are reserved or have already been taken,
- whether an individual handover changes the scope of the set offer.
Do not conceal the option of an individual handover. Interested parties must be able to see that the composition and availability of the set may change when an individual item is handed over.
If the price field contains only one amount, the title and description must clearly indicate what this amount relates to. Any further prices must be clearly assigned to the respective component.
Using an advert for the set and individual adverts at the same time
A general set advert and additional individual adverts for the same items may overlap in content.
This can lead to the following problems:
- The same item appears multiple times as available.
- Prices or descriptions contradict one another.
- A component is sold while the complete set continues to be offered as active.
- Interested parties do not know which advert shows the current position.
- The adverts may be regarded as identical or nearly identical offers.
This approach should therefore not be used as the standard. If separate adverts are necessary in a particular case, each advert must describe a clearly distinct offer.
Make it clear in each advert:
- which item or set is being offered,
- exactly which components are included,
- what price applies to this specific offer,
- which items are still available,
- whether other separate offers are available in the profile.
A different heading or preview image alone does not turn the same offer into an independent advert. Publication of several overlapping adverts cannot be guaranteed.
How should the offer be worded?
Suitable wording truthfully describes what interested parties can actually receive.
Examples of clear wording:
- “I am selling a pair of jeans and a matching belt as a complete set. The total price is 45 euros.”
- “The jeans and belt are being offered as a set. Alternatively, the jeans can be purchased separately for 30 euros.”
- “This advert relates exclusively to the belt. The complete set is not on offer here.”
The following types of wording are unsuitable:
- where the title promises a complete set, even though one component is no longer available,
- the price applies only to the cheapest individual item, even though the advert shows a set,
- individual sales options are deliberately omitted,
- it is not clear which items are included in the price,
- the same items are described differently in several adverts.
Do not use vague terms such as ‘all or individually’ without providing a precise list of items and prices.
State the price and free handover clearly
The price field and the description must not contradict each other.
It must be clear whether the stated amount applies:
- to the complete set,
- to a specific individual item,
- to several clearly identified components,
- to a specific quantity.
If items are provided free of charge, please also specify:
- which items are free of charge,
- whether only the entire set is provided free of charge,
- whether individual components can be selected,
- whether a specific quantity per person applies,
- which components have already been reserved or allocated.
Do not use a low placeholder or bait price that does not apply to either the set or any individual item actually available. Any mandatory additional costs or conditions must be clearly stated in the advert.
Which images should I use?
The images must show the actual offer.
For a set, it is advisable to include:
- an overview image showing all the items included,
- individual photos of the components,
- close-up photos of key features,
- clear photos of any defects or signs of wear.
For an individual advert, the main image should clearly show the item offered there. Do not use a photo of the complete set as the only image if only one component is actually being offered.
Remove or replace images as soon as a component shown is no longer part of the offer. Use your own current images and avoid depictions that create a false impression of the condition, items included or availability.
Check type, category and location
The components of a combined offer should sensibly fall under the same type and category.
Check:
- whether the set actually forms a combined offer,
- whether the selected category matches the focus of the set,
- whether items offered individually require a different category,
- whether all items are available at the specified location,
- whether the search function can find the advert within the selected type.
The search function only searches within the type the user is currently viewing. Therefore, do not select an inappropriate type in order to gain additional visibility.
If components must be assigned to different types, categories or locations, separate adverts are generally clearer.
What should be done after an individual handover?
If a component has been sold, given away or reserved, the advert must no longer show the original complete set as available.
Check and update:
- the list of items included,
- the images,
- the total price,
- the individual prices,
- the title,
- the description,
- the details regarding reservations,
- the current status of all relevant adverts.
If the original set no longer exists, the following options are available depending on the situation:
- Update the contents, images and price, provided the necessary details can be edited.
- Deactivate the set advert if the offer is temporarily unavailable.
- Delete or archive the advert if the original offer has ended.
- Create a new advert if a significantly different offer has been created.
Do not silently replace a component that has been handed over with another item. The new offer must be described fully and accurately.

Avoid duplicate and conflicting offers
Do not create several adverts for the same item merely to:
- cover different categories or locations at the same time,
- achieve greater visibility,
- circumvent an earlier rejection,
- resubmit the same item with a slightly altered title,
- present the same component simultaneously as part of several available sets.
If separate adverts are required, each advert must concern a genuinely independent item or a clearly distinct offer.
Check regularly whether active set and individual adverts still reflect your current stock. Deactivate or correct any conflicting offers before new enquiries arise.
What should be checked before submission?
Before submitting, check that:
- The chosen form of offer is unambiguous.
- All items included are listed in full.
- Set and individual prices are clearly assigned.
- The title, description and price field do not contradict one another.
- The images show the items currently included.
- Items not included are clearly marked.
- The type, category and location match the offer.
- Reserved or already allocated items are not shown as freely available.
- There are no unnecessary or contradictory duplicates.
- All adverts active at the same time show the same current availability status.
Review and publication
A combined set offer, an individual offer or a combination of the two may be reviewed before publication.
Even a fully and transparently described advert does not guarantee:
- automatic publication,
- approval of several overlapping offers,
- processing within a specific timeframe,
- the approval of an advert that was previously rejected.
If an advert is rejected, read the reason given and correct the affected details. Do not submit several slightly altered versions of the same offer in an attempt to circumvent the review.

When should I contact support?
Use the contact form if you are unsure how a set and its individual components should be offered. Please specify, where possible:
- which items are included in the set,
- whether the set should be offered both in full and as individual items,
- the intended individual and total prices,
- which adverts have already been created,
- which items are currently available or reserved,
- which type and category you have selected,
- whether a rejection or error message has already been displayed.
Support can review the specific case. Publication or a particular processing time cannot, however, be guaranteed.
