Retention according to the relevant purpose
There is no single retention period for personal data. As a rule, it is retained only for as long as required for the relevant purpose. This also includes the initiation, performance and completion of the user relationship.

Statutory periods and legal claims
Depending on the type of documents, retention periods of ten, eight or six years apply under Section 257 HGB and Section 147 AO. For legal claims, data may remain stored during the statutory limitation periods; as a rule, this is three years, and in special cases up to 30 years.

After account deletion
Once a user account has been terminated, personal data is deleted, blocked or anonymised as soon as statutory or contractual obligations, purposes connected with winding up the account, legitimate interests or potential claims no longer prevent this. Disconnecting an external login service does not delete the user account.

Security features and backups
Limited pseudonymised technical security features may remain stored temporarily after account deletion in order to prevent misuse and protect system security. They are not used to restore the profile, for advertising or for general behavioural analysis. Data in backups is removed as part of regular deletion cycles and remains blocked until then.

Deletion on request
You may request the deletion of your data. It will be deleted immediately unless this is prevented by retention obligations, contractual requirements, system security considerations or legitimate interests – such as for the defence of legal claims. Details can be found in Section 12 of the Privacy Policy.
