Individual messages or attachments cannot be deleted from a conversation on suchen.expert. If you no longer need the message history, you can remove the entire conversation instead.

Can I delete just one specific message?
No. There is currently no function that allows you to select and delete an individual text message from an existing conversation. This also applies to an attachment that has already been sent. The message concerned therefore remains part of the message history.
This is separate from the function for removing an entire conversation. The article How can I delete the message history of a conversation? explains how to remove the entire history.

What can I do after sending a message by mistake?
Since an individual message cannot be recalled, it is best to send a brief correction immediately. Clearly state which earlier information no longer applies and which information is correct. This keeps the change clear to both parties in the context of the conversation.
If you have accidentally sent the wrong file, explain that the attachment should not be used and only send the correct file if it is genuinely needed for the arrangement. Guidance on sending files securely can be found in Sending photos or PDF files in messages on suchen.expert.

What should I bear in mind if I accidentally send personal data?
Do not send additional sensitive details to explain the mistake. If you have shared a password or access code, change the relevant password or have access blocked by the relevant provider. If payment details are involved, contact the relevant payment service or your bank. Also use the contact form if the incident needs to be reviewed by suchen.expert.
If necessary, contact support using the contact form. However, this cannot delete or recall an individual message that has already been sent. Never share passwords, TANs or confirmation codes with support.

Report suspicious or inappropriate messages first
If a message appears offensive, fraudulent or otherwise suspicious, do not hastily remove the entire conversation. The history may contain important details for the review. First report the message using the designated process and block the user if necessary.

Check before removing the entire conversation
Because individual items cannot be removed separately, deleting the entire history may remove more information than you originally intended. Check the following beforehand:
- Do you still need details about the price, appointment, handover or scope of services?
- Are there any unanswered questions or agreements that have not yet been completed?
- Should a suspicious message be reported first?
- Have you recorded the necessary information securely and kept it to a minimum?
Deleted messages and conversations cannot be restored. For more information, see Message status and recovery.

How to avoid sending messages by mistake
Before sending, check that you have opened the correct conversation and that the text and selected attachments are intended for that person. Pay particular attention to whether personal data is visible in photos or PDF files. For important details, it can help to read the message in full before sending it.
Only send information that is necessary for the specific arrangement. Passwords, confirmation codes, full payment details or copies of identity documents do not belong in the messages section.
