Search your own mailboxes for earlier messages
Search the email inboxes you use for messages from suchen.expert. Suitable search terms include ‘suchen.expert’, ‘activation’, ‘password’, ‘listing’ or ‘message’.
Check not only the main inbox, but also:
- spam and junk folders,
- the archive and bin,
- promotional or notification folders,
- automatically created subfolders and filters,
- forwarding destinations and your own email aliases.
Open a message you find and check which of your addresses it was sent to. Check the full recipient address, rather than only the name displayed in the email application. Do not open unexpected links to determine the address.
Check saved login details
On your own trusted devices, check whether your browser or password manager has saved an entry for suchen.expert. The saved username may contain the email address used.
Only view saved passwords in the official interface of your browser or password manager. Do not copy the details into third-party websites or send screenshots of them to anyone else. If there are multiple entries, compare their website addresses and the time they were last modified without making random sign-in attempts.
Use a session that is still active
If you are still signed in to suchen.expert on your own device, check the profile or account information available there. Depending on the account type and the features currently available, the email address may be displayed in full, in part or not at all. Therefore, do not assume that it is visible in the profile or can be changed directly.
On a trusted personal device, it may be advisable not to end the only session that is still active before access has been clarified. In this case, do not hastily clear the browser's site data either. However, do not continue using someone else's session or a shared session. If you suspect unauthorised access, securing the account and the associated email inbox takes priority.
Check Google sign-in for a personal account
For a personal account, signing in with Google can serve as both registration and activation. The associated address is then the address of the Google account selected during registration.
If you use multiple Google accounts, check the official Google interface to see which accounts are present on your own device. Then sign in to suchen.expert with the Google account you originally used. An account set up in this way may not have a separate suchen.expert password.
Never disclose your Google password or Google confirmation codes to suchen.expert, other users or people claiming to be support staff. Reset a Google password only through Google's official pages or the official Google app.
Signing in via Facebook or Apple is planned for the future. Neither option's availability nor a specific launch date is promised. You should therefore not rely on these options to recover an existing account.
Check a business account separately
A separate business registration process applies to a business account. Search the business mailboxes of authorised people for earlier messages from suchen.expert. In particular, check the business address used during registration, general role-based mailboxes and permitted forwarding arrangements within the company.
If necessary, ask the responsible and authorised person within the company which business address was used. Do not exchange passwords or one-time codes while doing so. Signing in with Google for a personal account does not replace access to the business account.
When contacting support, clearly state that it is a business account and provide the company name, the suspected business email address and your role or authorisation within the company. This does not automatically mean that access to the account will be granted; support may consider further checks necessary.
Do not systematically try addresses
Do not try large numbers of possible email addresses or passwords. Repeated failed attempts can trigger security checks and make troubleshooting more difficult. Do not use other people's addresses to determine whether an account exists either.
Do not register an additional account while it remains unclear whether a personal or business account already exists. Duplicate accounts can make account matching more difficult. Further rules on matching and using accounts can be found in the General Terms of Service.
Reset the password only after identifying the address
Once you have reliably identified the registered email address, you can use the ‘Forgot password’ option if necessary. Instructions can be found in How do I reset my password?
A password reset will not help if you originally used only Google sign-in, enter the wrong email address or the account has been restricted or deleted.
Further possible causes of failed access are explained in What can I do if I can't log in?
Distinguish between account restriction and deletion
Knowing the email address does not guarantee that access is currently available. If the account has been temporarily restricted, this cannot be circumvented through repeated sign-in attempts, a password reset or a new account. Further guidance can be found in Why is my account temporarily restricted?
If the account has been permanently deleted, restoration may no longer be possible. Information about the consequences of deletion can be found in How can I permanently delete my account?
If the status is unclear, clarify it with support before making any further registration or recovery attempts.
Contact support securely
If you cannot identify the email address used yourself, use the contact form. The following details may help with account matching:
- personal account or business account,
- full profile name,
- a link to your own publicly visible profile, if known,
- IDs or links for your own listings,
- approximate registration period,
- time of the most recent successful sign-in,
- the sign-in method originally used,
- for a business account, the company name and a suspected business address.
Provide only the information required for account matching. Do not send a password, complete activation or reset links, or one-time confirmation codes. Do not submit a copy of your identity document unless asked to do so. If additional evidence is required for a further check, follow only the specific instructions provided through the secure method designated for this purpose.
Why support cannot disclose an address without verification
The registered email address is personal and security-sensitive information. Support therefore cannot disclose it solely on the basis of a claim that a particular profile belongs to you. Depending on the circumstances, an initial check may be required to determine whether the person making the request can be verified as authorised in relation to the account.
A support request guarantees neither disclosure of the full address nor restoration or modification of account access. This restriction protects accounts from third parties obtaining confidential account details through publicly visible profile or listing information. Information about data processing and the rights of data subjects can be found in the Privacy Policy.
Protect confidential information
Do not publish suspected email addresses, support correspondence or account details in listings, profiles or public posts. In screenshots, make sure that passwords, security codes, complete recovery links, payment details and unnecessary personal information are obscured.
Do not respond to anyone who promises to recover the account in exchange for payment, disclosure of a code or provision of a password. Use only the official contact form for support requests.
