An archived advert can be republished if the offer, request or event is still current. To do this, go to the ‘Archived’ section under ‘My Adverts’, check the entire content and resubmit the advert for publication.
An archived advert is not publicly visible whilst it is archived. Simply opening or editing it does not automatically put it back online.
What requirements must be met?
Only reactivate an archived advert if:
- the item, service or event is still available,
- the original purpose still applies,
- the advert type, category, situation and location are still correct,
- the title and description still match the actual content,
- the price or reward is up to date,
- the images and links are still relevant,
- dates and availability have been checked,
- there is no other active or pending advert with the same content,
- the offer still complies with the applicable rules.
If the purpose of the advert has changed significantly, a new advert may be required.
How do I open the ‘Archived’ section?
Follow these steps:
- Log in using the user account with which the advert was originally created.
- Select the ‘Archived’ tab.
- Wait until the list has finished loading.
- Search for the advert you want using the title, image or advert ID.
If you are logged in with a different user account, the advert will not be displayed there.
How do I find the correct archived advert?
Check the advert carefully before editing or resubmitting it.
Pay particular attention to:
- title,
- preview image,
- advert ID,
- original advert type,
- category,
- situation,
- location,
- previous price or reward,
- event or incident date,
- previous description.
If there are several similar adverts, do not simply open the first entry. Compare the title, image and advert ID to ensure you do not accidentally update the wrong advert.
How do I start the reactivation process?
Open the management functions available for the desired advert.
Select ‘Edit’, or the editing or reactivation function displayed for the advert. This opens the advert so that you can check it.
Clicking ‘Edit’ does not automatically make the advert public online again. First, check and update the entire content.
Why should I check the entire content again?
Significant details may have changed since the advert was originally published.
This applies, for example, to:
- availability,
- the condition of an item,
- price or reward,
- postage costs,
- collection options,
- delivery terms,
- scope of services,
- area of operation,
- venue,
- date,
- images,
- external links,
- contact details,
- mandatory business information.
Do not reuse the old text without checking it. An advert may still look complete but no longer match the current offer.
What content should I update?
At the very least, check the following:
- Is the title still clear and accurate?
- Does the text describe the current condition?
- Are all key features listed?
- Are any known defects still described correctly?
- Is the scope of delivery or service up to date?
- Is the price or reward correct?
- Are collection, shipping, delivery or call-out arrangements explained correctly?
- Is the item still available in the specified quantity?
- Are dates and timeframes still valid?
- Do the images match the description?
- Do the existing links work?
- Are the legal or business details up to date?
Remove any outdated information completely. Add any new essential information so that interested parties can assess the offer correctly.
What do I need to bear in mind regarding price and reward?
Continue to use the field associated with the advert type.
- For ‘Marketplace’, use the ‘Price’ field.
- For ‘Lost’ and ‘Found’, use the ‘Reward’ field.
- For services, enter the price or rate in the field provided, if such a field is available.
- For events, state the admission, participation or ticket price if payment is required.
- A ‘Give away’ advert must not contain a hidden selling price.
Check that the amount in the field matches all price details in the title, description and images.
Which details cannot be changed?
The advert type, category, situation and location are fixed when the advert is originally submitted. These four basic details cannot be changed using the standard editing function, even for an archived advert.
You should therefore check:
- Does the advert type still match the current purpose?
- Is the category still correct?
- Does the situation still describe the actual circumstances?
- Is the location still accurate?
- Does the map marker still correspond to the advert?
A different note in the title or description does not alter the technical classification.
If a fixed basic detail is incorrect, do not reactivate the old advert. Save any text and images you need and, if necessary, create a new advert with the correct classification.
What do I need to check regarding images?
Only use images that accurately represent the current content of the advert and which you are authorised to publish.
Check the following:
- Do the images still show the actual condition of the item?
- Are items that have been sold, removed or are no longer included still shown in the images?
- Are any new damage or changes visible?
- Do the images contain out-of-date prices or dates?
- Are private addresses or delivery labels visible?
- Are ID, bank account or card details visible?
- Are QR codes, barcodes or access codes visible?
- Are uninvolved individuals recognisable without their consent?
- Have full serial or IMEI numbers been published?
- Are the images sufficiently clear and legible?
Replace any out-of-date or misleading images. Do not re-upload third-party images unless you are authorised to use them.
What do I need to check for events and time-sensitive offers?
A past date or appointment must not be republished unchanged.
Check the following:
- current date,
- start and end times,
- venue,
- admission time,
- registration deadline,
- availability of places or tickets,
- current terms and conditions of participation,
- price tiers,
- age or access requirements,
- information on cancellations or postponements,
- current contact details.
If it is in fact a new event that differs significantly from the previous one, a new advert may be advisable or necessary.
What applies to lost or found items?
Before reactivating the advert, check whether the loss or find is still current.
Do not reactivate the advert if:
- the lost item has since been found,
- the found item has already been returned,
- the item has been handed in to the relevant authority and the advert is no longer required,
- the original details of the location or circumstances are no longer accurate,
- the advert is now to be used for a different purpose.
If necessary, update the following:
- description of the item,
- period during which it was lost or found,
- distinguishing features,
- reward,
- images,
- instructions for safe handover.
Do not publish any unnecessary personal details or full serial numbers.
What applies to services?
Check whether the service is still being offered or sought in the same form.
Check the following:
- exact nature of the service,
- scope of services included,
- price or rate charged,
- minimum order value,
- travel costs,
- material costs,
- area of operation,
- available times,
- required qualifications,
- business details,
- current examples or images.
If a service you were offering has now become a service you are seeking, or vice versa, the fixed situation cannot simply be corrected in the text. In this case, create a new advert with the correct classification if necessary.
What applies to Marketplace and ‘Give away’ adverts?
Before republishing, check the following:
- Is the item still available?
- Has its condition changed?
- Are all the components shown in the images included?
- Is the specified quantity still available?
- Is the price correct?
- Is the item still for sale, or is it now being given away?
- Are collection and postage still possible?
- Are the postage costs up to date?
- Have any known faults been described in full?
- Are there any guarantees, warranty details or other information that need updating?
A sales offer must not be reactivated unchanged as ‘Give away’ if payment is actually required. Similarly, a previous sales advert must not be converted into a free offer by editing the text if the advert type is no longer appropriate.
How do I resubmit the updated advert?
Once you have checked all the editable details:
- read the title and description in full,
- check the price or reward,
- check the images and links,
- check dates and availability,
- check for any inconsistencies,
- save the changes you have made,
- use the ‘Submit’ or ‘Publish’ function provided in the form,
- then check the status displayed under ‘My Adverts’.
Do not close or refresh the page unnecessarily whilst saving and submitting.
Will the advert become publicly visible again straight away?
An archived advert may be reviewed again after it has been resubmitted. During this time, it may be displayed under ‘Pending’.
Once the review has been completed successfully, the advert will be listed under ‘Active’ again and become publicly visible. Previous publication does not guarantee that the advert will be approved automatically when resubmitted.
There is no generally guaranteed fixed processing time for the review. Check the current status under My Adverts.
What should I check after approval?
Open the published advert and check it from the perspective of an interested user.
Check the following:
- Is the advert shown as ‘Active’?
- Is the title complete?
- Is the description formatted correctly?
- Are all images present?
- Is the price or reward correct?
- Are dates and availability up to date?
- Do internal and external links work?
- Is the correct location specified?
- Is the ‘active until’ date displayed?
- Have all outdated details from the previous version been removed?
If you find an error, edit the existing entry where possible. Do not create a second version straight away.
How can I identify the new publication period?
After re-approval, check the ‘active until’ date displayed on the active advert.
This date shows when the current publication period ends. Do not rely on the earlier expiry date of the archived advert.
Once the new active period has expired, the advert will be moved back to the ‘Archived’ section, unless it has been deactivated or deleted beforehand.
Why shouldn’t I create a second identical advert?
Before creating a new advert, check all sections under ‘My Adverts’:
- ‘Active’
- ‘Pending’
- ‘Rejected’
- ‘Deactivated’
- ‘Archived’
Avoid:
- creating a new copy, even though the archived advert can be reactivated,
- creating a second advert whilst the advert is being reviewed again,
- multiple versions in different categories,
- slightly altered titles for the same content,
- the same images in several almost identical adverts,
- repeatedly creating new adverts to circumvent the publication period.
Duplicate adverts can confuse interested users and falsely suggest that the same item or service is available more than once.
When should I create a new advert instead?
A new advert may be necessary if:
- a different type of advert is required,
- the original category is no longer appropriate,
- the situation has changed,
- a different location is required,
- a completely different item is being offered,
- a previous event is being replaced by a new, significantly different event,
- the service has been fundamentally altered,
- the archived advert can no longer be updated appropriately.
Save any text and images you need, check that the basic details are correct, and create the new advert from scratch.
Make sure that the old version is not reactivated as well.
When should I not reactivate the archived advert?
Do not reactivate it if:
- the item is no longer available,
- the request has been dealt with,
- the lost item has been found,
- the found item has been returned,
- the service is no longer being offered or sought,
- the event has already taken place,
- the details can no longer be updated accurately,
- the content now contravenes applicable rules,
- the advert type, category, situation or location are incorrect,
- there is already an active advert with the same content.
You can leave the archived advert in the archive or delete it permanently if you no longer need it.
What should I do if I cannot find the advert in the archive?
Check the following:
- Are you logged in with the correct user account?
- Is the advert perhaps still listed under ‘Active’?
- Is it being reviewed under ‘Pending’?
- Has it been rejected?
- Has it been manually deactivated?
- Has it been permanently deleted?
- Has the 28-day publication period actually expired?
- Are you searching for the correct title or the correct advert ID?
An advert is not archived simply because it is no longer visible to the public.
What should I do if the ‘Edit’ button or the reactivation function is missing?
First, reload the page and check the advert’s status again.
If the required function is still not displayed:
- use an up-to-date browser,
- check whether the page has loaded completely,
- log out and log back in,
- check whether the advert has actually been archived and not deleted,
- make a note of any error message displayed,
Do not create a new copy straight away while it remains unclear whether the existing advert can still be used.
What should I do if changes are not being saved?
Check:
- whether all required fields have been completed,
- whether the price or reward has been entered in the permitted format,
- whether images are in a supported format and of a permissible size,
- whether a mandatory field has been overlooked,
- whether an error message is displayed,
- whether your internet connection is stable,
- whether the browser you are using is up to date.
Do not refresh the page repeatedly whilst there are still unsaved changes in the form. As a precaution, save any longer texts you have written yourself outside the platform.
What information does support need?
If the advert cannot be reactivated, please provide the following where possible:
- advert ID,
- exact title,
- status displayed,
- original expiry date, if known,
- the missing or unresponsive function,
- device used,
- browser and browser version,
- time the problem occurred,
- steps taken,
- wording of any error message,
- a redacted screenshot, where applicable.
Do not send any passwords, one-time codes, full payment details or full activation and reset links.
Support can check the status and possible technical causes. Automatic approval or restoration of a permanently deleted advert cannot, however, be guaranteed.
A quick check before resubmitting
Finally, please check:
- Is the correct archived advert open?
- Is the offer or request still valid?
- Are the title and description up to date?
- Is the price or reward correct?
- Are the images, dates and links up to date?
- Are all essential details complete?
- Are the advert type, category, situation and location still appropriate?
- Is there no active or pending copy?
- Have all changes been saved?
- Can the advert now be resubmitted for review?
After submission, check the status under ‘My Adverts’. Once the advert has been successfully approved, it will reappear under ‘Active’ and will be publicly visible to other users.
