If an image does not upload or the process stops, begin with the most common cause: check the file format and file size. Then test a single file and check your connection and browser. Clear the cache and cookies only later, as doing so may end your current login session.
Check the format and size of each image
suchen.expert supports images in the following formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, JFIF, WebP and AVIF. Each individual image may be no larger than 12 MB.
Check the file properties on your device. If an image is larger than 12 MB, save a smaller copy at a suitable resolution or carefully reduce the export quality. Keep the original separately so that the source file is not lost.
If a file is not accepted despite having a supported extension, open it in a trusted application on your device and export a new copy, for example as a JPG or PNG. Simply renaming the file extension does not convert its contents. Do not upload private photos to just any online converter.
Test a single file first
Choose a small image in a supported format and initially upload only that file. If this works, add the remaining images one at a time. This will help you identify whether a particular file is causing the error.
If only one image fails, create a new copy from the original and try again. If none of the suitable files work, continue by checking the connection and browser.
Check your internet connection
A slow or unstable connection can interrupt the transfer. Wait for the current attempt to finish and do not click the upload button several times in succession. Then check whether other pages load and repeat the process once the connection is stable.
If possible, test the upload using another trusted Wi-Fi, mobile data or wired connection. Do not use an unfamiliar open network if the photos contain personal information.
Reload the page and update your browser
Copy any unsaved advert text to a safe place before reloading the page. Then reopen the correct advert and test the image you have already checked.
Use an up-to-date browser version. Update it using its built-in function or the manufacturer’s official website. After the update, close the browser completely and reopen it if necessary.
Check JavaScript and try another browser
JavaScript must be allowed for interactive upload functions. If you have blocked JavaScript for suchen.expert in your browser settings, allow it specifically for this site, reload the page and try again.
Test the same file you have already checked in another up-to-date browser. You can also compare the result in a private window. If the upload works there, stored site data or an extension in your normal browser profile may be the cause.
Do not completely disable your browser’s protection, and do not install unknown extensions or software for the upload. A private window or another trusted browser is sufficient for comparison.
Clear the cache and cookies only after the basic checks
Once you have checked the format, size, connection and another browser, first clear the browser cache and test again. If your browser lets you select a specific website, restrict the clearing to suchen.expert where possible. First save the advert text and any other entries that have not yet been saved in a safe place.
If the problem persists, also delete the cookies stored for suchen.expert and reload the page. You may then need to log in again. Therefore, make sure beforehand that you will be able to log in again using the usual secure method. Do not delete all browser data without good reason.
Do not disable your firewall or antivirus protection
Check whether the firewall, antivirus software or browser protection displays a clear message saying that the upload is being blocked. Do not completely disable the protection software. This would create an unnecessary risk and rarely helps to identify the cause reliably.
If the device belongs to a company, school or another organisation, do not change the security policies yourself. Pass the displayed message to the responsible administrator or contact technical support.
Prepare information for support
- the device and operating system used,
- the browser and browser version,
- the format and exact size of the affected file,
- the step at which the upload gets stuck,
- the exact wording of any error message displayed,
- the steps from this guide that you have already tried.
If necessary, take a screenshot of the error message. Before sending it, crop out or obscure names, addresses, contact details, private photos, personal messages and payment information. Never send a password, a TAN or a confirmation code.
Check the photos after successfully resolving the issue
Open the uploaded images in the advert preview. Check that they are displayed in full, arranged sensibly and show no unintended personal information. For guidance on lighting, sharpness, angles and presenting the item’s condition honestly, see How do I create the best product photos for my listings?
