First check the registration method you used
An activation link is only required if your chosen registration method involves confirming your email address. The exact process is shown during registration. General information can be found in the article How does account activation work? For a personal account, signing in with Google can currently serve as both registration and activation. If you used this method and successfully completed the process, you may not receive a separate activation link. In this case, try signing in again with the same Google account.
Sign-in via Facebook or Apple is planned for the future. These options will only be available once the corresponding buttons are officially displayed; no specific launch date is promised. For a business account, use the separate registration process provided for this purpose.
Check your inbox and other folders
First, check whether the activation message has arrived in your main inbox. Then also check the following areas:
- Spam or junk folders,
- Promotions, notifications or other automatically sorted folders,
- Bin and archive,
- Quarantine or filters in a business or institutional email system.
Search your entire mailbox for ‘suchen.expert’, rather than searching only for a specific subject line. Also check that the mailbox is accessible, can receive new messages and has not reached its storage limit. For business, school or government email addresses, internal security filters may delay or prevent delivery.
Check the email address you entered
An activation link can only be sent to the address provided during registration. Check for typing errors, transposed letters and missing characters, and make sure the domain is correct, such as ‘.de’ or ‘.com’.
If you cannot view or correct the address you entered yourself, do not start another registration or create an additional account. Duplicate accounts can make account matching more difficult. Instead, contact support using the contact form. Request a new link only using the displayed option
If an option to resend the link is offered on the registration, activation or sign-in page, you can use it to request a new activation link. Do not use this option repeatedly within a short period. Multiple requests can generate several messages and may cause older links to stop working.
Wait for the latest message and use only the link it contains. The resend option is not necessarily available in your profile, as an account that has not yet been activated may not have full profile access.
If the message arrives late
If an activation message arrives later, always use the most recent link you received. Older links may have expired, already been used or been replaced by a subsequent request.
Check whether the account has already been activated
The activation may already have been completed, for example through a link opened previously or by signing in with Google. Open suchen.expert directly in your browser and try to sign in using the method you originally used.
If the account is activated but you still cannot sign in, do not repeatedly request new activation messages. Instead, follow the guidance in What can I do if I can't log in? Protect your activation link and login details
An activation link is confidential. Do not forward it, publish it or send the full link to support. Never share your password or one-time confirmation and security codes with anyone else.
Only open a link if you were expecting the message following your own registration. Check the context, the sender’s domain and the link destination. A displayed sender name alone does not prove that the message is genuine. If in doubt, open suchen.expert manually instead of using the link in the email.
Further information about the processing of personal data can be found in the Privacy Policy. If you did not start a registration
If you unexpectedly received an activation message, do not click the link or reply with personal data. Someone else may have entered your email address by mistake or used it improperly.
Such a message does not in itself mean that someone has access to your email mailbox. However, if there are other indications of unauthorised access, secure your email account and change its password through your email provider’s official sign-in page.
Contact support
If you still do not receive an activation message and the provided steps do not help, use the contact form. Provide the email address used during registration, the approximate time of registration, the type of account and the chosen registration method. Also describe whether an error message was displayed and which steps you have already taken. Do not send support your password, the full activation link or any security codes. A screenshot of an error message may be helpful, provided it does not show any confidential data.
