Reviews allow you to share your personal experience of a specific interaction or transaction on suchen.expert with other users. This article explains when the review function is available, how to submit a review and which rules apply.
1. Requirements for submitting a review
Once you and the other user have exchanged at least three messages via the suchen.expert messaging system, the ‘Your review’ button becomes available.
Messages exchanged exclusively outside the platform cannot be taken into account by the system and therefore do not unlock the review function.
Once the function has been enabled, you can also submit the review at a later time.
2. How to submit a review
Select the ‘Your review’ button. You can then choose a rating of one to five stars and optionally add explanatory text.
Base your review exclusively on the interaction or transaction in question and on your own experience.
Check the selected stars and the text carefully before submitting the review. Once submitted, a review can no longer be changed, deleted or withdrawn.
3. How to write a fair review
Describe your experience in your own words, truthfully, objectively and respectfully. Specific details about the communication, agreements made or how the interaction proceeded help other users to put the star rating into context.
A negative star rating or critical review text does not in itself breach the rules. Criticism may be published if it is based on an actual experience, expressed objectively and truthfully, and contains no prohibited content.
4. Manipulation and prohibited content
Self-reviews and reviews submitted on behalf of other people are not permitted. Reviews must also not be bought, exchanged, generated automatically or coordinated with other people.
Close personal or business relationships must not be used to give the false impression that a review is independent. Reviews intended solely to harm a competitor are also prohibited.
Threats, pressure or incentives used to obtain, change or delete a review are prohibited.
Insults, discrimination, defamation, abusive criticism, advertising, spam, unlawful links and infringements of personality rights, copyright or trade mark rights are also prohibited.
5. Display and calculation of reviews
Reviews received are displayed with the number of stars awarded. If a review text is publicly visible, an excerpt of up to 100 characters may initially appear in a compact view.
The overall rating is the average of the star ratings that are still included. Each individual star rating carries equal weight in the calculation. The distribution from five to one star also shows how the individual ratings are broken down.
6. Show or hide review texts in your profile
Open ‘Profile’ and then ‘Settings’. Use the ‘Show review texts in profile’ toggle to specify whether the texts and comments relating to your reviews appear publicly on your profile.
If the toggle is switched off, only the review texts are hidden. The individual review entries, their star ratings and the overall rating remain visible for the retention period.
Hiding the review texts does not delete the reviews.
7. Retention period and search ranking
Published reviews are retained for 24 months. After that, they are automatically deleted and are no longer included in the overall rating.
Reviews currently affect neither the ranking nor the order of search results. A positive or negative review does not currently automatically cause an advert to be displayed higher or lower.
8. Reporting problematic reviews
If you notice a review that you suspect is unlawful, manipulated or otherwise abusive, you can report it via the designated reporting channels or the contact form. suchen.expert reviews the report in accordance with statutory requirements and the applicable Terms of Use. If the relevant requirements are met, a review may be restricted or removed.
A review is not removed solely because it is negative or because the person being reviewed disagrees with it.
