Check the account type and sign-in method
First, establish which account you are using and how it was originally registered. The following sign-in methods are particularly relevant:
- a personal account with an email address and password,
- a personal account with Google,
- a separately registered business account.
Use the same sign-in method as you used during registration. A password for a personal account does not automatically provide access to a business account. Similarly, signing in with a different Google address may open a different account context.
Do not create a new account if you have access problems. A duplicate registration can make account matching more difficult and is not a suitable way to circumvent an account restriction.
Check the email address and password
Check that the email address entered is complete and does not contain typing errors, additional spaces or incorrect endings. When entering the password, pay attention to upper- and lower-case letters, the current keyboard layout and whether Caps Lock may be enabled.
If a browser or password manager fills in the fields automatically, check that it is actually using the login details for suchen.expert and the correct account. The old password may still be stored there following a previous password change.
Do not continually repeat failed attempts. For security reasons, multiple incorrect entries may lead to a temporary delay or additional checks.
If you have forgotten your email address
If you are no longer sure which address you used to register, do not systematically try numerous addresses or create a replacement account. Instead, check your saved login details and search your own mailboxes for earlier messages from suchen.expert.
Further guidance can be found in the article I have forgotten my email address – what now?
Reset your password
If you have forgotten your password or it is no longer accepted, use the ‘Forgot password’ option on the sign-in page. Then follow only the most recent reset link you received.
Full instructions can be found in How do I reset my password?
A new password does not automatically activate an account that has not yet been confirmed or lift an existing account restriction. Therefore, if sign-in with the new password also fails, check the other possible causes.
Signing in with Google for a personal account
For a personal account, signing in with Google can serve as both registration and activation. If you used this method, select sign-in with Google again and use exactly the same Google account.
An account set up in this way may not have a separate suchen.expert password. If necessary, reset your Google password only through Google's official pages or the official Google app. Do not share Google passwords or confirmation codes with either suchen.expert or anyone else.
Sign-in via Facebook or Apple is planned for the future. Neither their availability nor a specific launch date is promised. Therefore, do not rely on these options to recover an existing account.
Access a business account separately
For a business account, the separate business registration process applies. Use the registered business email address and the designated sign-in method. Signing in with Google for a personal account does not replace signing in to a business account.
If several people work for a company, only appropriately authorised people should use the login details. Do not share a password with unauthorised third parties. If there is a problem, provide support with the company name and registered business email address.
Check whether account activation is complete
When registering with an email address and password, you may be required to confirm the email address. If this has not yet been completed, sign-in may not yet be possible.
The general process is explained in How does account activation work?
If no activation message has arrived, follow I haven't received the activation link – what can I do?
If the link appears to be expired, invalid or already used, read My activation link has expired or doesn't work.
Take the account status into account
If the account is already active, you will not normally need another activation link. A failed sign-in may then be related to the password, the chosen sign-in method, a technical issue or the account status.
If it is unclear whether the registration is incomplete or the account is already active, restricted or deleted, the article Can I have my account reactivated? will help you distinguish between these situations.
Temporary account restriction
If the account has been temporarily restricted or suspended, this cannot be circumvented by repeated sign-in attempts, a new activation link or a password change. Check any messages from suchen.expert and note the reasons and possible actions stated in them.
Further information can be found in Why is my account temporarily restricted? If you would like to provide additional circumstances or request another review, use the contact form. Submitting a request does not guarantee that the restriction will be lifted.
Permanently deleted account
If an account has been permanently deleted, restoration may no longer be possible. The fact that some data continues to be processed due to statutory retention obligations does not mean that a usable account can be reconstructed from it.
Further information can be found in the article How can I permanently delete my account?
If you are unsure whether the account was deleted or only temporarily restricted, first clarify its status with support. In the meantime, do not create a new account as a replacement.
Check the browser and site data
Open suchen.expert directly using the official address and reload the sign-in page. Use an up-to-date browser. If the error persists, you can test the following steps one at a time:
- Close the sign-in page and open it again.
- Try a private browsing window to determine whether existing session data are causing a conflict.
- Check whether cookies and JavaScript have been completely blocked for suchen.expert.
- If necessary, clear only the stored site data for suchen.expert and then sign in again.
- Check whether a browser extension is blocking content, cookies or sign-in dialogs.
- Check that the device's date and time are set correctly.
Clearing the site data will sign you out in the browser concerned and may remove local page settings. Do not indiscriminately clear your entire browsing history if checking the site data for suchen.expert is sufficient.
To determine whether an extension is the cause, you can use a private window or another up-to-date browser. Do not disable security software or bypass security or certificate warnings.
If a security check is displayed in the sign-in window, wait for it to finish and follow the steps shown there. Do not use external services or technical workarounds for this check.
Check the network connection
An unstable connection, a VPN, a proxy, a company filter or a restrictive network configuration may affect the sign-in process. Reload the page and, if necessary, try another trusted connection.
Do not bypass the rules of a company, school or government network. If you are using a managed device or network, contact the responsible administrator. Where possible, do not use an unsecured public Wi-Fi network to sign in.
Possible temporary disruption
If the page does not load, buttons do not respond or a technical error appears regardless of the details entered, there may be a temporary service or connection disruption. Wait a while and try again later instead of continually repeating the process.
Note the date, time and exact wording of the error message. After trying again, check whether the problem still occurs when using different trusted devices or connections. However, this does not automatically mean that suchen.expert is the cause.
Protect your login details and security information
Never share your password, a complete activation or reset link, or one-time confirmation codes with other users or people claiming to be support staff. Support does not need this confidential information to investigate an access problem.
Only open sign-in and recovery links if you started the process yourself. Check the context, the sender’s domain and the link destination. If in doubt, open suchen.expert manually.
Further rules on protecting and using your account can be found in the General Terms of Service. Information about the processing of personal data can be found in the Privacy Policy.
Contact support
If you still cannot sign in after following these steps, use the contact form. The following information is helpful:
- the registered email address,
- the account type: personal account or business account,
- the sign-in method originally used,
- the date and time of the most recent attempt,
- the exact wording of the error message,
- the browser, device and operating system in general terms,
- the troubleshooting steps already carried out.
A screenshot may assist with the technical investigation. Obscure any passwords, complete activation or reset links, security codes, payment details and other unnecessary personal information.
