Log in and open the form
To create an advert, you must be logged in to suchen.expert. Then open the ‘Place an advert’ page.
If possible, prepare a clear description, the relevant location, a price or event date (if applicable), and suitable images in advance. The fields displayed may depend on the selected advert type, category and situation. Therefore, please also note the instructions provided directly within the form.

Which advert type is right for my needs?
There are four advert types available for offers, requests, services and events:
- ‘Give away’ for items that are being sought or given away free of charge,
- ‘Services’ for services being sought or offered,
- ‘Marketplace’ for selling, buying or swapping,
- ‘Events’ for event requests or creating an event.
Select the type based on the actual main purpose of the advert. For example, an offer to sell belongs in the ‘Marketplace’, whilst a repair service provided for a fee should be categorised under ‘Services’.
Selecting the wrong type may mean that interested parties cannot find your advert where they are looking for it.

Why is it important to choose the advert type particularly carefully?
The search function on each type page searches only adverts of the currently selected type. For example, if you are in the ‘Marketplace’ section, adverts from the ‘Services’ section will not be searched.
If an expected category is not displayed, first check whether you have selected the appropriate advert type.
The advert type cannot be changed after publication. You should therefore check your selection before proceeding to the next step.

Select category and situation
First, select the category that describes the item, service or event as accurately as possible. Only use ‘Other’ if there is no more suitable category available.
Next, select the situation that applies to the advert:
- ‘Give away’: ‘Looking for’ or ‘Give away’,
- ‘Services’: ‘Looking for’ or ‘Offering’,
- ‘Marketplace’: ‘Selling’, ‘Buying’ or ‘Swapping’,
- ‘Events’: ‘Search’ or ‘Create’.
Use ‘Give away’ only if the item is actually being given away free of charge. Hidden sale prices or mandatory consideration do not belong in a ‘Give away’ advert.
In the case of an exchange, it should be clearly evident what you are offering and what you are looking for in return. For services, you must clearly state whether you are offering a service or are yourself looking for a service provider.
Further guidance can be found in the article How do I choose the right category for my advert on suchen.expert?

Set the location and map position
Set the geographically accurate location using the location or map function. Depending on the advert, this may be the collection point, the service area, or the event venue.
Once you have placed the marker, check the location details displayed. Do not publish your exact home address in the title or description. If the full address is only required for a collection or to carry out a service, you can provide this to the selected person later via the messaging function.
In the case of a public event, the actual venue may be specified, provided you are authorised to publish this information.
The type, category, situation and location cannot be changed after publication. Different information in the description does not alter the advert’s technical classification. Further information can be found under Fixed listing details.

Create a meaningful title
The title must not exceed 75 characters. It should make it immediately clear what is being offered or sought.
Use specific terms rather than general phrases such as ‘Great offer’ or ‘Urgently wanted’. Depending on the advert, you can specify the type of item, the service being offered, the type of event or a key feature.
Avoid excessive use of capital letters, unnecessary special characters, a mere string of search terms, and statements that you cannot substantiate.
In accordance with the General Terms and Conditions of Use, email addresses, telephone numbers and postal addresses must not be published in either the title or the description text.

Write a complete and clear description
A maximum of 5,000 characters is available for the description. Describe your offer or request truthfully and in sufficient detail so that interested parties can understand the key terms and conditions before making contact.
For ‘Give away’ adverts, it is particularly helpful to specify the type of item, its condition, any defects, the quantity, collection options and, where applicable, the actual shipping costs incurred. For adverts with the situation ‘Looking for’, it should be clear which item is needed and in what condition.
For ‘Services’, you should explain the scope of the service, the service area, possible dates, necessary requirements, the pricing basis and any additional costs. Mention qualifications, licences, insurance or professional experience only if you genuinely have them. When seeking a service, describe the desired task and expected outcome as precisely as possible.
For ‘Marketplace’ adverts, the description should include, in particular, the name, manufacturer or model, condition, age, items included, known defects, quantity and collection or shipping options. For ‘Buying’, describe the desired version and the acceptable condition. For ‘Swapping’, both sides of the exchange must be presented clearly.
For ‘Events’, you should specify the type and purpose, date, start and expected end times, target audience, entry requirements, any participation or ticket fees, accessibility, and important organisational details.

State the price, event date and reward correctly
For ‘Give away’, ‘Services’ and ‘Marketplace’, the form currently displays a price field. Enter only an accurate amount there.
If it is not immediately clear what the price refers to, explain this in the description – for example, whether it relates to a single item, an hour’s work, an appointment or the entire job. State any known additional costs transparently.
For a genuine ‘Give away’ advert, the price field must not be used to demand a sale price or mandatory consideration afterwards.
For the ‘Events’ type, the form contains an event date field as well as the ‘Reward’ field. Enter the actual date of the event. Use the ‘Reward’ field only if a reward is genuinely being offered. It should not be used as a substitute for an admission charge or ticket price.

What is the ‘Secret data’ field intended for?
The information in the ‘Secret data’ field is not displayed publicly in the advert. However, users can find the advert if they specifically search for the information stored there.
The field can therefore be used for unique identifying features that should not appear openly in the description or in a photograph. Depending on the advert, this may include, for example, a serial number, a vehicle identification number or another uniquely identifiable feature.
This field is not intended for storing login details. Do not enter any passwords, PINs, TANs, bank details, activation links or other access codes here. Furthermore, do not use irrelevant search terms simply to make the advert appear in additional search results.

Telephone number and communication
There is a separate field in the form for a telephone number. Do not include telephone numbers, email addresses or postal addresses in the title or description.
For enquiries about the advert and further arrangements, we recommend using the messaging function on suchen.expert. This ensures that important information, agreed dates and other details remain traceable in the message history.
Only disclose an exact collection, service or home address when this is necessary for a specific arrangement. Be cautious if an unknown person puts you under time pressure or asks you to enter payment or login details via an external link.

Upload suitable images
You can upload up to twelve photos. Each file must not exceed 12 MB in size.
The following formats are supported:
- JPG,
- JPEG,
- PNG,
- TIFF,
- JFIF,
- WebP,
- AVIF.
The images should relate to the actual item, service or event. Use your own photos or images for which you have sufficient authorisation to publish.
Do not show any personal data, private addresses, ID or account details, access codes, ticket barcodes, QR codes or clearly legible serial numbers in your images. Also check the background and any reflections for unintentionally visible information.
Photograph the actual condition and any existing defects clearly and comprehensibly. Heavily edited, misleading or unsuitable images may give interested parties false expectations.

Observe rules and legal responsibilities
Only publish items, services and events that may lawfully be offered, sought or held. Prohibited, dangerous or specially regulated offers must not be disguised by an inaccurate category or description.
Anyone trading commercially must comply with the information, pricing, consumer, tax and trade regulations applicable to the specific offer. For services requiring a licence or qualification, the necessary prerequisites must actually be met.
Organisers themselves are responsible for any necessary permits, safety measures, rights relating to premises and use, age restrictions, and accurate date and access information.
A review or approval of the advert does not mean that suchen.expert confirms the legality, quality or actual availability of the offer.

Select optional promotions
Prior to publication, the following additional paid services can currently be selected:
- visual highlighting with a yellow border for €6.99,
- premium placement in the upper section for €16.99,
- gallery feature for €26.99.
Depending on the option selected, the duration can be set between seven and fourteen days. Before booking, please check the price currently displayed on the form, the selected duration and the scope of services.
Promotion can improve visibility, but it does not guarantee a particular number of views, messages or successful transactions. It does not replace a suitable category, a complete description and appropriate images.

Duration and automatic publication
An advert is generally active for 28 days. If you expressly activate automatic publication or republication, the publication period may be extended automatically to as much as 56 days.
Without selecting this option, there will be no automatic extension.
Use the management functions provided to end or update the advert as soon as the item is no longer available, the service is no longer being offered or sought, or the event has been cancelled.
Further information can be found under Automatic publication of adverts on suchen.expert.

Final check and submission of the advert
Before submitting, please check the following in particular:
- Type, category, situation and location,
- Title and description,
- Price or event date and reward,
- Details in the ‘Secret data’ field,
- Images and any information visible within them,
- Duration and automatic publication,
- Selected paid add-on services,
- Compliance with the Terms of Use and data protection requirements.
Then read and accept the Terms of Use and privacy information linked in the form. You can then submit the advert using the ‘Publish’ button.
Newly posted adverts are checked before they are first made public. Please do not assume there is a fixed processing time for this. The advert may be approved or rejected.
If the advert is rejected, check the reason given, correct the affected content and then resubmit the advert. Further details can be found under How does the process of publishing adverts on suchen.expert work, and what should I expect?
