First, distinguish between account statuses
‘Reactivate’ can refer to different situations. The registration may not yet have been completed, the activation link may no longer be valid, the account may already be active, you may simply have been signed out or access may have been temporarily restricted. A permanently deleted account must also be distinguished from an account that is merely inaccessible.
Therefore, do not immediately try to create another account. Duplicate registrations can make account matching more difficult and are not a suitable way to circumvent a restriction or deletion.
Registered, but email address not yet confirmed
If you registered with an email address and password but have not yet confirmed the email address, the account may not yet be fully activated. Use the most recent valid activation link and follow the steps shown there.
The article How does account activation work? explains how activation generally works. If no message has arrived, read I haven't received the activation link – what can I do?
Do not start the registration process again using the same or a different address. If no resend option is displayed or the email address originally provided is incorrect, contact support using the contact form.
Activation link expired or replaced
An activation link may be valid for a limited time, usable only once or replaced by a link requested later. Use only the link in the most recent message. Do not repeatedly request new emails within a short period, as this may make older links unusable.
Further steps can be found in My activation link has expired or doesn't work.
Account may already be active
If a message states that an activation link has already been used, the account may already be activated. Open suchen.expert directly in your browser and try to sign in using the method you originally used.
If you can sign in, no further activation is required. If individual features are unavailable, this may have other causes; activation status alone does not guarantee unrestricted access to every feature.
Only signed out or forgotten your password
Signing out does not deactivate an account. Sign in again using the registered email address and the corresponding password.
If you have forgotten your password, use the recovery function provided for this purpose. Instructions can be found in the article How do I reset my password?
If you cannot sign in despite using the correct login details, follow the guidance in What can I do if I can't log in? Resetting your password does not automatically lift an existing account restriction.
Signing in with Google for a personal account
For personal accounts, signing in with Google can currently serve as both registration and activation. If you set up your account in this way, use the same Google account to regain access. A separate activation link or a separate suchen.expert password may not be required in this process.
Check carefully which Google account you select. Signing in with a different Google address may lead to the wrong account context. Therefore, do not create additional accounts just to test this.
Sign-in via Facebook or Apple is planned for the future. There is no promise as to when these options will become available. If you already have an access issue, do not wait for them to be introduced.
Treat a business account separately
For a business account, use the separate registration process provided for this purpose. Signing in with Google for a personal account does not replace business registration.
Do not try to restore a business account by creating multiple personal accounts or to circumvent an existing restriction. When contacting support, clearly state that it is a business account and provide the company name and registered business email address.
Account temporarily restricted
A temporarily restricted or suspended account will not be automatically unlocked by a new activation link or a password change. Check any messages from suchen.expert and note the reasons or possible actions stated in them.
The article Why is my account temporarily restricted? provides guidance on possible causes and what to do next. If you believe the decision is incorrect or would like to provide additional circumstances, you can request another review using the contact form.
Submitting a request does not guarantee that the restriction will be lifted or the account restored. The outcome depends on the circumstances, the applicable rules and, where relevant, legal or security requirements. Do not create a replacement account while the restriction is in place in order to circumvent the measure.
Account permanently deleted
If an account was actually deleted at your request or following a final termination, restoration may no longer be possible. Account data that has already been deleted or anonymised cannot be reconstructed solely because certain information still has to be retained due to statutory retention obligations.
Further information about the deletion process can be found in the article How can I permanently delete my account?
If you are unsure whether the account was permanently deleted or merely restricted, request its status using the contact form. Do not create a new account as a replacement before the matter has been clarified. Support can investigate the matter, but cannot promise restoration in every case.
Protect your login details and activation information
Never share your password, a complete activation or recovery link, or one-time confirmation codes with anyone else. Support does not need these confidential details either.
Only open account and recovery links if you started the process yourself. If in doubt, open suchen.expert manually instead of following an unexpected link. If you suspect unauthorised access, change the password for the associated email account and, where applicable, the password for your suchen.expert account.
Information about the processing, storage and deletion of personal data can be found in the Privacy Policy.
Contact support with the correct details
If the status cannot be clarified, use the contact form. Provide the following information:
- the registered email address,
- the type of account: personal account or business account,
- the registration and sign-in method originally used,
- the approximate time of registration or the most recent successful sign-in,
- the exact wording of any error message displayed,
- a brief description of the steps already taken.
A screenshot may be helpful, provided that it does not show any passwords, complete activation links, security codes or unnecessary personal data.
