Sign out using the profile menu
On suchen.expert, open the profile or account menu. If the “Log out” or “Sign out” option is displayed there, select it and wait for the process to finish. Then check that the sign-in option appears again and that you can no longer access protected account areas without signing in again.
The name and location of the option may vary depending on the device or current design. You should therefore not assume any particular menu layout.
Simply closing a tab or the browser window does not constitute a complete sign-out in every case. Wherever possible, always use the sign-out option provided on the platform.
Signing out does not delete or deactivate the account
Signing out only ends the current session. The user account, profile name, listings, messages, reviews and other stored account data remain in place. You can sign in again later using the intended sign-in method.
Signing out also does not terminate a user agreement or constitute a request to delete the account. If you want to remove the account permanently, read How can I permanently delete my account?
Other devices and sessions
Signing out in the current browser does not necessarily end sessions on other devices, in other browsers or in other browser profiles. Rely on having been signed out of all devices only if an option specifically intended for this purpose is offered and its successful completion is confirmed.
Sign out separately on every device that you can still access. If an option to view or end other sessions is displayed, you can use it. However, this option is not necessarily available for every account type or in every view.
Shared or public devices
If you have used a shared device, someone else’s device or a publicly accessible device:
- Sign out using the platform option.
- Then close all browser windows you used.
- Do not allow the browser to save your password.
- Remove saved sign-in details if you are authorised to do so on the device.
- If necessary, clear the site data for suchen.expert in the browser you used.
Clearing the site data may sign you out in the browser concerned and delete local settings for the website. It does not automatically end sessions on other devices. Do not indiscriminately clear all browser data if selectively removing the site data for suchen.expert is sufficient.
On a public device or someone else’s device, you cannot reliably control how it is managed or monitored. Wherever possible, do not use such devices for sensitive account actions. If you entered your password there and have doubts about security, change it afterwards from a trusted device.
Saved passwords and automatic sign-in
A browser or password manager may retain sign-in details even after you have signed out. The stored details do not necessarily sign you in again automatically, but they may be inserted into the sign-in fields on a later visit.
Remove stored sign-in details from someone else’s device or a shared device only through the browser or password-manager option provided for this purpose, and only if you are authorised to do so. Do not change another person’s sign-in details.
If you no longer know your own password or need to change it for security reasons, follow How do I reset my password?
Signing in with Google
For a personal account, signing in with Google can serve as both registration and activation. Signing out of suchen.expert does not necessarily sign you out of your Google account at the same time. Conversely, signing out of Google does not necessarily end an existing session on suchen.expert.
Therefore, check both services separately on a shared device. Use only Google’s official interface to sign out of Google. Do not unlink your Google account or change your Google password solely because you want to sign out of suchen.expert.
If you suspect unauthorised access to the Google account, secure it directly using Google’s official options. Never disclose Google passwords or confirmation codes to suchen.expert or other users.
Signing in via Facebook or Apple is planned for the future. Neither option’s availability nor a specific launch date is promised.
Special considerations for a business account
For a business account, only appropriately authorised people may use the account access. In particular, sign out of shared company devices when you finish your work. Sign-in details must not be passed on to unauthorised employees or external parties.
If a person authorised to access the account leaves the company, or if there is uncertainty about previous access, the responsible people within the company should review the access situation, change the password if necessary and contact support. Whether other sessions can be ended centrally depends on the account options actually offered.
If the sign-out option does not respond
Reload the page and check whether you are still signed in. Then open the profile menu again and use the displayed sign-out option only once. Repeated rapid clicks do not help when there is a technical delay.
If the problem persists, you can:
- open suchen.expert in an up-to-date browser,
- check whether cookies and JavaScript have been completely blocked for the website,
- close the browser window and reopen it,
- if necessary, selectively clear the site data for suchen.expert in the current browser.
Clearing the website data is only a local measure for this browser. It should not be regarded as confirmed sign-out from other devices. Do not disable security software or bypass browser or certificate warnings.
If you suspect an unauthorised session
If you suspect that someone else has access to your account, signing out on your own device may not be sufficient. First secure the associated email account.
For an account with an email address and password, change the suchen.expert password from a trusted device. If you use Google sign-in, secure the relevant Google account instead through its official options. End other sessions if an option to do so is offered.
Also check whether profile details, listings or other account content have been changed without your consent. Inform support about suspicious activity without sending passwords, full recovery links or security codes.
Further rules on protecting and using your account can be found in the General Terms of Service. Information about the processing of account and session data can be found in the Privacy Policy.
Signing in again
After signing out, you can sign in again later using the original sign-in method. For a personal account using Google, use the same Google account as you used for registration. For a business account, use the designated business sign-in details.
If you cannot sign in again, follow What can I do if I can't log in?
Contact support
If signing out is not technically possible, you suspect an unknown session, or you cannot reliably assess the account status, use the contact form. Provide:
- the account type,
- the registered email address,
- the affected device and browser in general terms,
- the date and time of the problem,
- the exact wording of any error message,
- the steps already taken.
A screenshot may help with a technical error. Obscure any passwords, security codes, full activation or reset links and other unnecessary personal information.
