+ Place an advert
If you deactivate an advert with an active promotion service, it is temporarily no longer publicly visible. However, the duration of the booked package is neither stopped nor paused. It continues until the scheduled end date.
You should therefore plan any deactivation so that you can make the most of the visibility you have already paid for. It is often sufficient to update an important detail or respond briefly to enquiries, rather than deactivating the entire advert whilst a promotion is active.
The package duration continues to run even whilst the advert is deactivated
Promotion services are booked for a fixed period. This period is determined by the package start date and selected duration. The status of the advert does not change this schedule. Every day for which the advert is deactivated therefore still counts towards the booked duration.
If the advert is reactivated later, the package does not start from the beginning. Only the time remaining until the original end date is available. If the end date has already been reached, the promotion service has expired.
Example with a duration of 7 days
You book a promotion service package for 7 days. After 3 days, you deactivate the advert. The package continues to run while the advert is deactivated. If you reactivate the advert the next day, 3 days of the original package duration remain.
The deactivated day is therefore not added to the end of the period. This example helps you assess the best time for a pause or reactivation realistically.
Think carefully before deactivating
First, check why you want to deactivate the advert. This will determine which solution makes sense for you:
- The offer has already been taken or is no longer available: deactivate it so that new prospective customers are not led to expect that an outdated offer is still available.
- A detail is incorrect: If possible, update the content and keep the advert active if the offer is still valid.
- You are unable to reply at short notice: Decide whether a clear note in the text is sufficient or whether temporarily deactivating the advert is fairer.
- You only want to improve the images, price or description: make the necessary changes promptly so that the promotion can continue to support a convincing advert.
Do not publish information that is no longer accurate simply to use the remaining duration. An up-to-date and reliable advert builds greater trust.
If you have multiple packages, the rule applies to each one individually
If ‘Yellow Frame’, ‘Premium Top’ and ‘Gallery’ are active at the same time or at staggered times, each package continues according to its own schedule. Deactivating the advert does not pause any of these packages. As the end dates may differ, you should check all remaining durations before making your decision.
You can read how multiple bookings overlap in the overview of simultaneously active promotion services.
Check the remaining duration before and after the pause
In your profile, open My Adverts, select the relevant offer and check the promotion services shown there. If necessary, make a note of the remaining duration before deactivation. After reactivating the advert, this will make it easier to see how many days are still available.
Reload the page once after making a change. Then check whether the advert is listed as active again and whether its public page is accessible.
How to make the most of the remaining time
When you reactivate the advert, it should be ready for prospective customers straight away. A quick quality check is especially worthwhile if only a few promotion days remain:
- Choose a clear, up-to-date cover image.
- Check the title, category and location.
- Update the price or reward and all important conditions.
- Add any missing information that prospective customers frequently ask for.
- Respond to messages as promptly as possible during the remaining duration.

What you should not expect from deactivation
Deactivation does not reserve the remaining promotion days for later or extend the booking period. The originally booked period remains the deciding factor.
If you expect the advert to be unavailable for a longer period, it is best to take this into account before booking a package. Choose a period during which you can keep the advert up to date and reply to enquiries.
If the displayed status is unclear
If the remaining duration, package status or reactivation is still unclear after reloading the page, describe the sequence of events using the contact form. State the advert ID, package name, booking date, and the dates of deactivation and reactivation. Do not share passwords or complete payment details.
With a little planning, you can avoid unnecessarily losing visibility and use the booked service during the period when your advert is truly ready for prospective customers.
