A block can be removed. After unblocking, the person concerned can send you messages again. Therefore, before making the change, check whether you really want to allow contact again.
How to unblock a user
Follow these steps in order:
- Open the conversation with the person you want to unblock.
- Click the three-dot icon in the top right-hand corner of the message window.
- Select ‘Unblock user’.
Make sure that you have opened the correct conversation. Particularly when names are similar or you have several conversations, it is worth taking a quick look at the user and the associated advert before making your selection.
What changes after unblocking?
After unblocking, the user can send you messages again. You may decide to do this, for example, if a block was applied by mistake or if you deliberately want to resume contact.
Unblocking does not restore a conversation that was previously deleted. Information about deleted histories can be found in the article Message status and recovery.
Check briefly before unblocking
Consider why you originally blocked the person. If the block was applied because of repeated harassment, being put under pressure, offensive messages or suspected fraud, it may be sensible to leave it in place.
Check the following in particular:
- Do you want to receive messages from this person again?
- Has the previous situation been resolved, or does the reason for the block still apply?
- Does the conversation contain suspicious or inappropriate content that should be reported first?
If you feel unsure, you do not have to remove the block. In addition, do not share passwords, confirmation codes, full payment details or copies of identity documents through the messages section.
