You can report messages that are inappropriate, suspicious or in breach of the General Terms of Service directly from the relevant conversation. To do so, use the ‘Report’ option. Do not delete the message history before submitting the report.

When should I report a message?
You should report a message if, for example, it contains spam, offensive or aggressive content, a possible attempt at fraud or another inappropriate request. Consider not only individual words but also the context of the conversation.
Typical reasons for reporting a message may include:
- repeated unsolicited advertising or messages unrelated to the advert,
- insults, threats or aggressive pressure,
- requests to disclose passwords, TANs, confirmation codes or full payment details,
- suspicious payment, shipping, login or confirmation links,
- messages claiming to be from suchen.expert that ask you to take an unusual action or disclose confidential information.
Not every disagreement or unanswered message is automatically a breach of the rules. Therefore, when reporting a message, describe factually what happened and which specific message appears problematic to you.

How to report the message
Follow these steps in order:
- Open the conversation containing the message in question.
- Click the three-dot icon in the top right-hand corner of the message window.
- Select ‘Report’ from the menu.
- Describe the problem in the form that opens.
- Review your details and submit the report.

What should the description include?
Describe the incident briefly and specifically. State which message is concerned, what was unusual about it and whether the person repeated the same request. If your report concerns a link or a payment request, describe its purpose without reopening the link or entering confidential information.
Never enter your password, TANs, confirmation codes or full bank and card details in the form. You should also not submit copies of identity documents or other personal documents unnecessarily.

Why should I not delete the message history beforehand?
The message in question and the preceding replies show the context of the incident. Therefore, do not delete the conversation prematurely; submit the report first. Deleted message history cannot be restored.
Preserve the context even if you do not wish to reply to the suspicious message. You do not have to start a discussion and should not allow yourself to be pressured.

What should I do if I suspect an attempt at fraud?
Do not open unexpected links or QR codes and do not disclose login details or confirmation codes. Where possible, discuss questions about the advert, the price, the handover and other arrangements in the suchen.expert messages section.
A request to use another communication channel is not automatically fraudulent. However, caution is advisable if you are put under time pressure or urged to switch immediately to an external messenger without a clear reason. Detailed guidance is available in Why should I be wary if I am asked on suchen.expert to continue the conversation in another messenger?

Reporting and blocking are separate steps
The report concerns the problematic content. If you also do not wish to receive any further messages from the person, you can block them separately. Blocking is an additional decision and is not a prerequisite for submitting a report.
